Onboard our Majestic Vessel “Jiwa” Tradewinds Adventures will again return to wave-rich islands of North Sumatra. We invite you to join our surf charter as we cruise through the islands to seek out that slice of perfection.

Jiwa is a 23m traditional wooden Phinisi, the kind of which would have been used years ago by merchants who traded throughout the archipelago.  Her twin masts, clean lines and rustic charm provide for a unique way of experiencing the Indonesian islands: she tends to blend into the environment rather than impose on it.

Our first voyage has been passing through some of the best surfing locations on the planet seeking out the most perfect uncrowded waves possible.  The focus of the journey is finding locations that we can surf without 6 or 7 other charter boats in attendance. This may mean spending less time at the most famous spots in favour of lesser-known but empty breaks further afield.

When we’re not chasing waves there’s always plenty of opportunities to fish, dive or just relax onboard as this majestic vessel cruises through the islands to breathtaking anchorages.
