FREEDIVING WITH TRADEWINDS ADVENTURES
Beneath the waves …
We’ve spent many years chasing waves throughout Indonesia and that has undoubtedly provided some of the most memorable experiences of our lives. What we’ve realised though, is that Indonesia has so much more to offer – and following that stoke for the ocean we found through surfing, we’ve embraced the beauty that lies underneath the waves and entered the world of freediving.

Learn the art of breath-hold diving in the warm waters of Amed, Bali. Freediving training has exploded in the last few years and we are partners in the first school founded here in Bali, Apnea. Our customer-centric approach focuses on slow mental and physical adaption, not target numbers. Allowing time for the diver to gradually become more comfortable with increasing depths. The result is a much more enjoyable and rewarding process.
Designed by surfers and freedivers, the Survival Apnea program is an introduction to the physiology of freediving and techniques used by freedivers to gain comfort in the water. This program is specifically for surfers and those looking to become more comfortable in wipeout scenarios and/or bigger waves.
Topics covered include:
Mind body awareness
Breath hold training
Safety and rescue process
The freediving and snorkeling in Raja Ampat simply put, is world-class. Raja is an underwater kingdom of extravagantly rich coral reefs that support an astonishing array of species.
Underwater you can expect to see technicolor soft corals, tasseled wobbegongs, sharks, hawksbill turtles, manta rays, octopus and much more; the diversity is absolutely mind-bending!
Topside, you’ll marvel at dramatic limestone islands, dazzling aquamarine lagoons, and rare birds of paradise. Travelling by boat makes for a comfortable home-base and your evenings are spent in exquisite and remote anchorages, savouring the utterly unspoiled beauty of your surroundings.
The trip begins in Central Raja Ampat, this means that from day one, we’ll have our pick of several world-class dives. Other Regions you can expect to visit include: Alyui bay, Wayag (famous for its stunning island lagoons), Pef, Arborek – home to manta sandy and many many more.
A typical day might include morning Yoga followed by freedive training and/or reef exploration. We’d then have breakfast and prepare for another water session. After lunch we’d maybe put on the tanks and go for dive or maybe explore an island lagoon.Evenings are spent chilling onboard or else we might even do a night dive or have a campfire on a remote island beach.
Side activities include:
