There is absolutely no better time to be up in the Mentawais than now , with the start swell season and minimal crowds you can really expect some epic conditions, combine this with the Jiwa team and get ready for literally a trip of a lifetime.

We are really excited to be setting sail for the islands and plan to spend the next few months chasing waves, diving , fishing and soaking up all that the islands have to offer. We appreciate times are hard for everyone so we have worked out a crazy reduced rate that will hopefully be affordable, get us out there surfing and go some way towards covering the costs of operation.

Departing from Tuapejet in the central Mentawais means we can pick you up from the fast ferry and have you surfing the very same day. Nearby waves include Telescopes, Icelands and Scarecrows with Playgrounds just a short sail away.

We’ll make a call based on the forecast and guest preference and spend the rest of the charter seeking out the best and most suitable conditions on any given day. We intend to hit all the highlights and also push out to some of the lesser known hidden gems.

We will end the trip in Tuapejet meaning an opportunity to surf on the morning of departure before taking the fast ferry back to Padang.

If you have a group and want to book out the whole boat then you’ll need to pay for 8 guests to guarantee exclusive use. Please contact for prices for group charters and alternative dates.

1. A non-refundable deposit of 20% of the total cost is required within 7 days of making the booking. The depoit will be accepted as part payment of the total cost.
